It's no secret that Samsung has plans for a tablet, we've even seen purported pictures of it. However, recent leaks suggest we may not have to wait long before catching sight of the little scamp in an official unveiling.
Following the same Galaxy S branding that Samsung has been using for its newest line of smartphones, the company's tablet is rumored to be called the P1000 Galaxy Tab. Samsung Firmwares claims to have found a "new special firmware" that give away the specs of the upcoming slate.
SF points towards a screen resolution of 480x800; a 3.2-megaixel rear camera; a smaller front-facing camera for video calling; a 1GHz CPU; Flash; Swype; WiFi; and Bluetooth.
Previous rumors hinted that this device might run Android 2.2, also known as Froyo, and a report over on Computerworld speculates that we could see an unveiling at IFA in Berlin next month.

Internet Explorer 9 Beta Launching September 15
Are you ready for the next iteration of Internet Explorer?
Microsoft yesterday began sending out invitations for a special event to selected members of the press, VIPs and developers. Microsoft says the event will serve as a chance to "Celebrate the Beauty of the Web" and perhaps more importantly, as a launch pad for Internet Explorter 9 Beta.
Microsoft's James Pratt wrote about the invitation in a blog post and detailed that IE9 has been well received so far, with 2.5 millions downloads of the platform previews since MIX, in March of this year.
He also included a screen shot of the invitation, because space constraints meant they had to keep the attendee list small.

Apple Replacing Overheating iPods in Japan
Japanese owners of first generation iPod nanos are finding that the device can run hot. Really hot. In fact, they can sometimes run hot enough to catch fire and burn the user.

Earlier this month, Apple was ordered to post a disclaimer on its Japanese website about the early version of the iPod nano, explaining to customers how they could go about getting replacement batteries for their nano or even just advice about the issue. The public statement came at the behest of Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency and trade ministry, after a two-year investigation of the problem.
