Apple Acknowledges iPad Wi-Fi Problems

Apple admits to iPad Wi-Fi difficulties and suggests that you reconfigure your router to help it along.

Yesterday we reported on the early issues plaguing the early adopters of the Apple iPad. Problems include weak Wi-Fi performance and sensitivity to high temperatures.
It appears that Apple has quietly acknowledged some of the Wi-Fi issues in an update to its support site.
Apple described the Wi-Fi problem symptoms as, "Under certain conditions, iPad may not automatically rejoin a known Wi-Fi network after restart or waking from sleep. This can occur with some third-party Wi-Fi routers that are dual-band capable when: * Using the same network name for each network; * Using different security settings for each network."
Apple suggests a solution of giving each Wi-Fi band a different SSID name but both bands to have the security type.

Apple to Reveal iPhone OS 4.0 This Week

Apple will be offering a sneak peak into iPhone OS 4.0 on Thursday.
Monday Apple told industry analysts and journalists that an iPhone OS 4.0 event is scheduled to take place on April 8th at 10am PST / 1PM EST. The company plans to offer a "sneak peak " into the next generation of iPhone OS software, however the announcement is somewhat surprising given that Apple is still riding the iPad hype after a successful launch over the weekend
So what's in this next release? That info remains unclear, however we've mentioned in the past that OS 4.0 may incorporate device multitasking. This may not be a true implementation of the term, but rather mimics the Android OS by leaving services running in the background: users can close a chat client window but still remain "connected" to the chat network.
Other rumors of new OS 4.0 features include a global inbox, home screen contacts, and a possible GPS navigator. Of course, all this is mere speculation until Thursday's big reveal to the press. We'll be real surprised if Apple doesn't reveal Netflix for OS 4.0 later this week.

Intel vs AMD: Which Would Zombot Use for Brains?

Don't worry, your ARM-based mobile device will be safe from the brain-eating zombots.
While Judgement Day came and went on August 29, 1997 and there was no uprising of the machines, that doesn't mean that it might not still happen. If it's not just sentient computers that we're worried about, there could always be a zombie apocalypse. While I feel fairly well armed to deal with zombies after watching Zombieland, Shaun of the Dead and playing lots of Dead Rising, I'm not sure what I would do in a Zombot Apocalypse.
Thankfully, it seems that Zombots might not know what to do either – at least not without consulting our latest CPU benchmarks.

Sleek iPad is on sale primarily in United States – but tech enthusiast from Pakistan are already looking for ways to get the device in hands, locally.
