Impressive build quality –
One of the best things the Karbonn A7 has to offer is its attractive looking sophisticated body design and great build quality. Most of the front area on the Karbonn A7 is captured by its 3.5inch display along with a center button as a shortcut to many services. It is designed with a matte finish back panel that prevents any ugly finger prints to occur on the back side. Karbonn A7 is having a decent looking body design comparing to the other budget range Android devices available in India. So, if you are looking for stylish looking impressive body design in your next smartphone in the budget range then Karbonn A7 can be a good choice.
Display Features –
Karbonn has designed the Karbonn A7 with a 3.5inch capacitive touch screen display, but it doesn’t really impress on the resolution side. It is offering only 320*480pixels resolution, so the media viewing experience on the phone is pretty normal. However, its big display allows you to view more content on large web pages while surfing the internet. Performance & Memory –
Karbonn A7 is powered by a single core 800MHz processor along with Qualcomm Adreno 200 GPU for additional performance. Its processor is supported by a 512MB of RAM memory and it comes with only 177MB of the internal storage. So, as you can see the internal memory is pretty low and it is really necessary to buy a MicroSd card along with the device for additional storage. Its processor performs well enough to enjoy the light applications but high end apps will give you a bit of lag while operating it.
Software Interface –
Karbonn A7 is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and its processing power is good enough to give you smooth operations while operating the interface. Karbonn has done a bit tweaking with the notification panel and power options of the software interface but still it looks very similar to the stock OS. Overall, the software interface is decent and works smoothly with the processor and the RAM it is powered by.

Karbonn A7 is powered by a 5MP camera with Dual flash, but it doesn’t perform well enough comparing to the mega pixels it contains. Quality of the photos captured by the camera of the phone is pretty similar to the photos captured by a 3MP camera device. It also comes with a front VGA camera and it gives you normal video calling quality. Overall, the camera present in the Karbonn A7 is normal and the higher mega pixels count is just a show off here.
Battery & connectivity –
Karbonn A7 is powered by a decent 1420mAh battery that gives you a lot of usage time. It can last around 1-2 days on moderate usage and around single day on heavy use. It comes with Dual SIM connectivity support and you can put a 3G SIM in one of the slots present on the phone. Other connectivity features of the phone include WiFi, Bluetooth and USB tethering.
Last Words –

It’s stylish looking body design & good hardware performance along with long lasting battery makes it a perfect choice for the affordable buyers in the Indian market. Karbonn A7 is officially priced for Rs. 7,000 in India but you can get it for fewer prices on many online stores.  However, to make a smart choice you should also compare it with other phones in the same price range from companies like Micromax and iBall etc.

Leadership Crisis Witnessed at National ICT R&D Fund

National-ICT-RD-FundsApathy of the government along with mismanagement of the Board of Directors is continued at National ICT R&D Fund for the last one year as the operations of this organization has been seriously impacted and its projects and programs are standstill.
Some of key reasons informed sources to Telecom Recorder on condition of anonymity are non-availability of a regular full-time CEO since June 2012 when Dr. Aun Abbas resigned due to undue pressures from the then Secretary IT (Farooq Awan).
The GM Coordination (Muhammad Ahmed) was then nominated by Farooq Awan to be the interim CEO knowing well enough that he has a poor track record. Apparently this was done to get things done the way according to the whims of Farooq Awan from this Company. It is to be noted that Muhemmed Ahmed does not fulfill the required educational criteria and experience of being a GM, let alone a CEO for such an important organization.
Other issues include the presence of individuals in key positions who have been placed there without having the requisite clearances from their parent departments of possessing minimum educational qualifications or experience for their respective positions.
They include CFO (Sardar Azmat Shafi), Internal Auditor (Omar Safdar Sandhu), and Acting Company Secretary (Nelofar Arshad). The hiring process of all these individuals and their educational credentials and background are at best dubious.
This group of individuals along with silent support from some Board members seems to have hijacked the Company and blocked the hiring of a full-time CEO (Dr. Ashraf Masood) and Company Secretary. They have changed around the work procedures of the Company for their own and possibly certain others’ benefit, created unwanted bureaucracy along with delays. They have already started violating the laid down policies and procedures. Such malpractices are sure to bring a bad name to the Company if such practices are not stopped.
With so many top slots filled in this company by ill-intention cronies of previous government, it is high time that finally the newly elected democratic government looks into this matter, gets rid of these politically appointed individuals, cleans up the overall state of affairs in this Company and appoints highly qualified and well-reputed professionals on merit for key positions so this important asset of the country may play its role for advancement of ICT sector in the country.
The new government should also take a look into other organizations, associated with Ministry of IT & Telecom, as well where stories of politically motivated appointments in direct violation of any merit and procedures and abuse of power abound. The recent public announcements, by the newly elected government, related to hiring for key position in important organizations on merit only can only be considered to be a serious commitment to the citizens of this country once backed-up by specific, concrete, prompt, and just actions!
