Google officially revealed Android 2.2 "Froyo" Thursday at Google I/O. Most of what we've learned about the OS update was made official: 2x to 5x more speed than the recently-released 2.1 update thanks to the Just-in Time (JIT) Compilation, USB tethering, Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, and a 2x to 3x speed boost in JavaScript for faster mobile browsing (and is apparently faster than Eclair and iPhone).
