In the fourth quarter of 2012, Telenor Pakistan reported revenues of PKR 22.78 billion (NOK 1,421 million), up from 20.20 billion (NOK 1,343 million) in Q4 2011, representing a revenue growth of 17%, mainly due to increased number of subscribers and the benefits of ICH.
The EBITDA margin improved by 2 percentage points mainly due to revenue growth and positive contribution from financial services and increased on-net traffic. EBITDA in local currency increased by 21%.
Telenor said that Financial services contributed to 3 percentage points of the overall growth at Telenor Pakistan.
Telenor said that revenues in forth quarter 2012 were partly offset by the decline in ARPU, forced network suspensions and directed closure of retailer sales channel during December.
Firm reported an yearly revenue of 90.61 billion (NOK 5.65 billion) in year 2012, up from 77.30 billion (NOK 5.01 billion) in 2011.
ARPU in local currency decreased by 5% attributable to multiple government enforced network closures and the reduction of incoming international traffic.
Operating profit was negatively affected by PKR 5.11 billion (NOK 319 million) in accelerated depreciations related to the network modernisation.
The number of subscriptions increased by 0.4 million during the quarter. At the end of the quarter, the subscription base was 9% higher than at the end of fourth quarter last year.
